Big Helpers!

The other day I overheard mommy saying that for everything she puts in a box, two things come back out. I have no idea what she meant...

We are GREAT helpers

Here's my baby brother helping mommy put groceries away. Hmm...I think more came out of the closet than actually went in.

Here we are helping daddy fix things at our new house. We emptied out his entire tool bag just to show him what great helpers we are.

And my pride and joy...I helped mommy paint one of the walls at our new house. I even got to pick out the color (this is a horrible picture of daddy but the only one that shows my masterpiece). And in case you're wondering what we're crawling in, that's our bathroom counter.

11 Months Old

It's hard to believe that a week has already passed since Kai hit his 11 month mark. WHAT?! You mean to tell me that my baby is almost ONE? Ugh. It seems hard to believe that it's almost been a year. Here are some 11 month highlights:

~Speed demon monkey crawler. I don't know how he does it but he pushes himself along with 1 leg and crawls with the other.

~Steadily pulls himself up on things (this is brand new just before turning 11 mo) and is slowly beginning to creep.

~It appears his hair will have more of the red highlights in it.

~Is now down to 1 nap a day.

~Has been waking up 1-2 times a night (see below)

~Is cutting all 4 top teeth.

~Loves to play with anything that belongs to his brother. You would think it's gold.

~Loves to empty anything...by throwing it across the room.

~His favorite game remains "ball" and he's very good at receiving it, then throwing/returning it.

~Loves to be naked and will squeal in delight and crawl away as fast as possible so you can't redress him.

~Is very in to mama right now :)

~Is nursing 3x a day (see above)

~Says "ball", "bye bye", "mama", "dada", "nana", "dahdah (means doggy)", "Ah-An (means Kadyn)

~Loves, loves, loves to read the Puppy and Kitty book and either smiles or giggles every time we make the barking dog sounds. "woof woof"

~Is very definitely a love with a hot temper :)

Kadyn-ism

1. We were having lunch at Grammie's house today and Grammie noticed that she was out of chips. Kadyn turns to mommy and says "Mommy, do you have any chips?"

Mommy says no and Kadyn declares "This is a perfect disaster!"

If only all our lives were so simple to think that a disaster was not having chips (and for the record...he hardly ever gets chips!)

2. We were singing This Old Man and it came to This Old Man, He Played Seven, He Played Knick Knack Up In Heaven...and Kadyn stops singing, looks at me, and says: "Mommy, I thought you said only people that died could go to heaven?"

Mommy: That's right, I did.

"But if this Old Man can play knick knack on the gate for number eight, then how did he get to heaven?"

Dumbfounded and completely caught off guard mommy: Um...Er...Maybe the gate is heaven's gate?

I guess that was a good enough answer to him cause he didn't ask anymore questions.

Our New House!

We are officially able to get in to our new house! Here are some "before" pictures. Now, it's time for Ryan to work his magic :) It's located less than a 10 minute walk from Drake Park/Downtown Bend. We are so excited to move in and call it home!

Countdown to baby

Yes, it's true. We are counting down to another very important baby...our cousin Bean! (Not really his name, but since Aunt Chelsea and Uncle Cory haven't divulged his name, Bean it's been). We thought we would take the opportunity to show baby Bean what all he has to look forward to...

Dear Bean,

First, it's important to know that you will probably do more than one thing to scare your mommy and your daddy. And you'll probably test the limits to see just how close to the edge you really can go. But know that your mommy and daddy will love you no matter what.

You don't know it yet, but you have good genes (comes from the Cheney side--hehe) so it's important to practice your very best smile. Know that the camera will be a common occurrence.

And when you get bigger, we'll both be here to teach you how to crawl. (And how to get in to mischief, play in the dirt, play with bugs, and all those other fun things boys do.)

We won't teach you all bad things either. We'll teach you how to help out a friend, to share (something we're working on), to laugh, to love, and most of all...to cuddle.

Baby Bean, we're so excited to meet you. We're going to be the best cousins ever! God has the perfect birth day for you but we hope it's sooner than later so you can come out and play! We don't even know you yet, but we already love you THIS much!

Love,

Kadyn James and Kai Isaac

Kai Isaac, "Baby," "Buba"

Oh how I love my boys! It's still amazing to me how different two little boys can be when they are both from the same parents, in the same environment, etc. It's great seeing each of their personalities play out.

Kadyn-ism

Kadyn was helping me bake cinnamon rolls for breakfast this morning. I ran upstairs to get Kai and came back down only to see him kissing EACH of the cinnamon rolls.

"Kadyn, what are you doing?"

--"Mommy, I'm filling them with love"

"Oh, that's great!"

--"Just like Nannie does. That will make them SOOO yummy."

SERIOUSLY?!?!

God doesn't give us more than we can handle and I'm not one to usually question Him, but sometimes I have to wonder if I am really equipped to handle all that He gives me.

This is Kai after having some strawberries last night. Seriously? If it isn't clear on your computer...those are hives. Blotchy, bumpy, red, raised, $(%&*%@*% hives.

Skipping Fall

Waking up to 4+ inches of snow is fun...but we seem to have skipped right past fall. Notice the leaves are still green. We went from 80 degrees to 32 and snow in a week. It's been down right cold the past 2 days. Daddy let Kadyn roast marshmallows on the fire we had to build.
