Happy Halloween!!

Tonight we are going to my friend Abby's house to celebrate Halloween. You will never guess what I went as?!?!

I thought I was pretty cute stuff. And of course...so did everyone else :) I did find it hard to practice my new walking skills in the outfit. It was pretty top heavy so I kept losing my balance.

PSA!!! I'm officially a WALKER!!!

As soon as my mommy and daddy can get technologically savvy and can figure out how to upload video footage I'll show off my new trick.

Snow in October?

Yup, it's true. There was snow on the ground when I woke up this morning. It reminded mommy of the first time I was in the snow.

These were taken last January. I am so excited to build snowmen this year. I could only watch last year.

I'm 10 months old

This month flew by...literally (since we spent 10 days on the East Coast)
Here's what this Lil Monkey has accomplished this month:
  • Took my first steps (I don't take more than 1 or 2 so I'm not an avid walker yet--mommy said that I just need to spend more time with Sam)
  • I had the Coxsackie Virus (Hand Foot and Mouth Disease)
  • I took my first flight across the country
  • I fell in love with apples
  • My new favorite game is chase...especially if it's my daddy chasing me
  • I learned how to dance…just a side note that daddy wanted me to point out--I don't get my cool moves from mommy
  • I got to experience my first fall, pumpkin, leaves, etc.
  • I decided that I don't like baby food anymore…I would much rather eat what mommy and daddy are eating and even if I've already had dinner, I'll crawl over to them and whine until I get what they have.
  • I got my first pair of shoes and look like a horse trying to walk in them
  • I had my first lick of ice cream resulting in refusing to eat anything unless it was sweet for 24 hours
  • I had my arm destroyed TWO times to get tested for lead (yes, you read that correctly. I had to be re-drawn because the Dr's office accidentally froze my blood the first time and apparently, it can't be frozen to test for lead poisoning--grrrr.)
  • And I got to go to the beach for the first time

  • And last but not least...look REAL close at this picture. I FINALLY got my first tooth!!! Boy I tell you, I just get over being really crabby when I was really sick and then I get this darn tooth that had to break through. I'm surprised mommy caught me smiling in this picture :)

The pumpkin festival

Today was my first Pumpkin Festival. I invited my girlfriend Abby to come along. She is 10 weeks younger than I am but seems to think that we can do all the same stuff.
But she wasn't so sure about this scary guy so I had to show her how it's done.

I also taught her how to ride in the wheel barrow. This was great fun. I told daddy that we should get one of these...I didn't have to be strapped in or anything.

She decided to try it with me but was camera shy.

I like them big. The pumpkins that is!

My dad even took the afternoon off to spend with us. Hope everyone is having a great fall.

Can we go back yet?

Well my big trip has come and gone already. I spent the past 10 days on the East Coast. After a day of travel we arrived. Mommy wanted me to let everyone know that I did great on the plane!! Not only that, but it only took 2 days for me to get adjusted to the time change.

Our first stop was at my Grandpa's house in Burlington, Vermont. The first day we were there we picked raspberries and went to an apple orchard.
My Grandpa helped me pick my first apple.

I decided that apples are great!!

We spent the next day touring mommy's old stomping grounds in Middlebury, VT.
We played on the Green at the center of town.

We went to Shelburne Farms and got to see all kind of animals.

And I got a bird's eye view of the farm grounds. It was beautiful.

Then on Tuesday, after 5 hours of driving, we ended up at my Great-Grandparent's house in Connecticut. I have to admit that I don't remember too much of the drive...mommy and daddy said they split up the day and drove during my naps. Here I am playing in the sand for my first visit ever to the beach...and not just any beach...the Atlantic Ocean!!

Even after such a long drive I was all smiles.

I found a new friend. They call this orange thing a pumpkin. Mommy said that every year during this time they harvest these things and some can be as big as me. We actually passed one at a farm that was as big as a VW Bug. This is crazy!

Boy, visiting family is so much fun.

During the 5 hour drive back to Vermont we stopped and had a picnic in Massachusetts.

Back in Vermont the leaves finally started to pop out. Here is the famous beaver pond in the town mommy was born in...Huntington, VT. It was beautiful. Grandpa calls it a spiritual place.

My mommy and daddy tried many goofy things to keep my entertained during all the car rides.

Another bribe during the car rides. This one was great!! Note to self: if you cry...you get ice cream!

I couldn't believe how pretty it was there.

Now that we're home I am all set to go back. This suitcase looks like it's just the right size for me. I was up at 4am today. Guess I have some getting use to with this whole time change. Wish me luck.
