It's a sad day on Trailblazer Lane

Today Daddy sold his jeep. It was a sad, sad day since Daddy swore he would never sell it. But alas, we needed the money for other things. Our new mode of transportation will be a much older, but "new" to us, Subaru. (If anyone knows of anyone selling such a vehicle, please let us know). However, it's nice to know that the jeep went to "family."

Daddy wanted to do one last photo shoot. I, of course, thought this was a great idea. It meant I got to drive!! Look at the smile on my face--you can see it even though I'm looking the other way.
Aw man, this thing is great! I wish we didn't have to sell it.

Breaker One-Nine, come in breaker one-nine...do you read me breaker one nine?

I'll be teaching driving classes to Mommy soon. She said she'd learn to drive a stick if Daddy ever sold his jeep (she said this thinking he would never sell it). For all those that know mommy...you understand what a HUGE thing this is, so I was practicing so she wouldn't be nervous.

I tried to take it for a spin around the block but daddy wanted it in one piece when he sold it. I'm a natural if I do say so myself.

Woof!

While Nana was playing in Colorado I got to spend the day with Papa, Uncle Drew and my new doggy cousin Kuna! (Nana and Papa usually watch me on Mondays and Tuesdays while mommy goes to work) I loved playing in Kuna's cage until I pinched my fingers. I like to pretend I'm a doggy and have even mastered the open mouth-tongue kiss that all the dogs do. Want to see me? Just ask me for a kiss :)

14 months old

Here are some of my new tricks:

1. I have 6 teeth

2. Ba-da (Boulder) is my favorite word and I call every dog Ba-da. Actually, pretty much everything is Ba-da

3. I am DONE nursing! Yup, it's official.

4. I can fall asleep at my nana's and papa's house and be transported home without a fuss at night. This has become our Thursday tradition since mommy and daddy watch a show called Lost with Nana and Papa at their house.

5. I now take ONE nap a day. (Note from mommy--This is awful...hopefully our next baby is a delightful little sleeper.)

6. I've been going to the church nursery. Mommy and Daddy can tell you how great this is for them.

7. I had my first professional haircut! Mommy had given me one before but this one was high tech.

~~~A side note...it's amazing how a little boy who isn't even 1 1/2 can remind us how thankful we are for all that we have. As Ryan said...Murphy's Law sure knows how to kick you when you are down. We are so blessed to have Kadyn, so innocent and unknowing, to remind us to be so thankful for all we have--even what we don't have. Each morning Kadyn wakes, smiles on his chubby little face, arms stretched out, just wanting our love. And love is one thing we can give. God is so good to remind us of this. We have a wonderful marriage, a beautiful son, loving family and we share our faith in our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Even when we don't have water, let alone hot water, or when the sink clogs and breaks, or taking a huge decrease in salary to make the going get tougher--we can keep our faces pointed to God and know that He will get us through. For through Him, all things are possible--even when they seem impossible.
"For I know the plans I have for you" declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart." Jeremiah 29:11-13
These were taken Feb. 5
These were taken a few weeks ago (you can tell because I still had all my hair) but I wanted to show them off anyway. You can't really see in the pictures, but my overalls have tools in the pockets just like my daddy and his Carhart pants when he works.
Today we went to Sam's house for a scavenger hunt and breakfast. It was a lot of fun. I now remember who Sam is when mommy says "Let's go to Sam's house" because I run to the front door and get so excited. He's my buddy. His mommy watches me on Thursdays while my mommy works and Sam and I get to play all morning.
A New Haircut and a New Toy
I got my first professional haircut yesterday. I got to sit in a car while the lady cut my hair. It was great fun for the first few minutes, then I wanted to stand up and drive the car.
You may wonder why I am bathing in the kitchen sink again, well our hot water heater broke. Mommy keeps referring to a guy named Murphy? I guess he has a really bad law or something. Regardless, mommy has to boil water on the stove and put it in the sink for me until Daddy fixes it.
Here is my new toy that a friend of mine brought over for me. Daddy was showing me how it works. We had fun playing together on it.
Big Shoes to Fill and a Basket Full of Fun
Yesterday was my daddy's birthday. We had a party for him at my house--my Nana, Papa, Grammy and Pops, and Uncle Drew and my new doggie cousin Kuna all came to celebrate his big day. Mommy told me that Daddy is really special and has big shoes to fill...I thought I would try them out. She's right, they are big. Maybe one day I will fit in to them.
At my daddy's birthday party I climbed in to my basket of toys to entertain everyone. I thought it was a great place to enjoy some juice.
