Welcome to Bend, Oregon

2 weekends ago it was 95 degrees. During the week, it was then 45 degrees. This past weekend rained the entire weekend and into today...all we're missing is snow! My Nana and Papa took pictures of me today with my raincoat on.

Sooo Big!

I am growing by leaps and bounds these days. Not just in height, but in my attempt at becoming more independent.
The biggest way I'm attempting to grow up is by expanding my vocabulary (although my favorite word is still "uh-oh")

1. Up (yes, you may think this is a common word...but I just learned it)
2. Bubble
3. Bible
4. Ti-tee = Kitty
5. Bow-da = Boulder (this sounds much more like Boulder now that it did a few months ago when it was just ba-da
6. Bu = Bird or Burr
7. Ba = Ball
8. Ba-ba = bye bye
9. Ssmm = Sam
10. Gaga = Grammy
11. Hieeee = Hi
12. paTEE = potty
13. Cossco = Costco (yes, this says how many times I frequent costco)
14. Dah = Duck
15. DaDee = Daddy
16. UhPP = Up
17. Ca = Car (say this with a New York accent)

Of course I still have all my other favorite words...Dada, Mama, Nana, Papa

I'll add to this list when I can think of more! (Mommy asked me to mention that daddy has been using a new format on the camera and she can't figure out to get it to a jpeg to put on here...as soon as daddy teaches her there will be a lot of pictures--promise)

Heartbeat and Ultrasound

Today was mommy's 12 week Dr. appointment. Grammy and I went with her because I had to see for myself that I was really going to have a little sibling. Sure enough, there was a good strong heartbeat. Mommy wanted the Dr. to make sure that there was only ONE heartbeat though so much to our surprise they did a quick ultrasound. (Usually there is only one ultrasound at the 20 week mark but because of how sick mommy's been the dr. wanted to be sure) We got to see the little gummy bear kicking and moving all over the place. And yes, mommy can rest easy now, there was only one. If she knew how to scan pictures you'd be able to see the ultrasound, but for now you will just have to take my word for it.

Happy Birthday Mommy!

This past weekend we went to Pacific City with my friend Sam and his parents. We were able to celebrate mommy's birthday a little early and get out of Bend for a few days.

Even despite the fact that I had a double ear infection a few days before we left, I had the best time ever. It was a dream come true because...

1. I got to sleep in the same room as mommy and daddy. I would wake early and they would pull me in to bed with them. No tears here.

2. Each morning when I woke up I would ask for Sam and he would magically appear within a few minutes. We didn't even have to drive anywhere to see him.

3. As soon as we had our breakfast we got to play outside!! For those of you who know me well, this is my all time favorite thing to do.

4. I could play in the sand and chase the waves until my hearts content...this resulted in several baths each day (another one of my favorite past times). My daddy and I would run out to the water and then stomp around in it. (Daddy said he'd post a video tomorrow!)

5. Did I mention Sam was there? (Below is a pic of Sam and his daddy)

6. Great food, great company, great memories! What a wonderful birthday present for mommy.

More bathtime fun

Here's "Bo-da's ba" (aka Boulder's ball) with me in the bathtub.

A look in to the future

Here I am as teenager Kadyn helping myself to a snack in the fridge. Every growing boy needs chocolate milk.

Bedtime

It's amazing how a peacefully sleeping baby wrapped in a blanket, tightly clutching a book about doggies and kitties, a soft blue blankie and a sippy cup, can make one forget about: dishes, cleaning the house or the dinner that's getting cold. A peacefully sleeping baby can remind you of all you are grateful for: all the hugs and kisses, all the baby laughs, all the uh-ohs. A peacefully sleeping baby can make you realize that you're holding your breath as you peer over. A peacefully sleeping baby can remind you that morning sickness is worth it.
